With so many people forced to stay at home there should be some great new restorations out on the rally circuit next year.

One aspect of our hobby is that we have to be inventive at times to come up with a solution to particular problems using what ever resources we have.

The depth bar is made up of several components, the bar, a locking pin, the operating pedal and a spring. From your photos I can see the bar and pin are missing. I have copied the illustration from the owners manual which shows how the depth adjuster fits. Please let me know if you require further information or assistance, I have manuals and parts lists for most Monro Tiller machines.

I have been told the HS has a larger sump. I will have to dig out parts books and see.

There is usually a cover over the points which can be removed by sliding the retaining clip across and to side of cover, it is a bit of a fiddle.

trusty220, yes it is the same Auto Mower company, they were based locally at Norton St Philip.

hd trust, one problem with this engine is it in pieces and not associated with any mower parts. What is needed is engine manual.

By coincidence someone has asked me for information about an Auto Mower engine,very similar, although cylinder and head are different but flywheel looks the same.

A 7″ wheel does sound an odd size.

Gearbox oils. GL-4 is OK for gearboxes that have brass components, mixed opinion about GL-5, some say yes some say no. I have Monro Tiller rotavators which use SAE140 in gearbox. Morris Oils of Shrewsbury do a good range of classic oils.
