Looking good, you will also get a bit of smoke from the various engine bolts and associated metalwork burning off assembly oil etc.

I also tried searching for Onan parts and all roads seem to lead to Cummins as Angus has stated, it will be interesting hear how you get on talking to them about parts for your engine. Their parts and service operation used to be very good, but my experience with them was for truck size or larger engines.

Looks as though Charlie has pipped me to the post re the manual! The one that I have is a photocopy to start with so it may not transmit as well as an original copy so probably better to go with Charlie’s offer.
Good luck with the project,

hillsider replied to the topic Villiers engine not ticking over in the forum Help and information 12 years, 4 months ago
There are several possible reasons why you engine des not idle ranging from blocked or incorrectly adjusted idling jet to the idle speed being set to low for the engine in this application.
It would be helpful if you could post a bit more information about the engine, we really need to know the model of the engine and the type of carburettor that…[Read more] -

The best I can do for today is to put up a couple of photos taken on max zoom from outside of my workshop.

That is an interesting one that I have not seen before, Webb were a British company so perhaps a search of patent records will uncover a bit of it’s history. Husqvarna have been turning out their Robomower for many years now but they are fully robotic as opposed to radio control.
I remember seeing the Husqvarna demonstrated when it first came to…[Read more] -

Pain as it may be I think it better to make sure every thing is in order at this stage rather than have all the problems further down the road after you have got the superstore fully stocked!
How does the saying go – forewarned is forearmed.
Good luck with it,

I think there must be a rule about sheds and workshops, they are almost always full to capacity soon after moving in. I know that has ben the case with both of mine.

Sounds a good idea re the washing line, make sure it is good strong line though or your freshly painted parts could take tumble! Some of the plastic coated line used on rotary clothes lines looks pretty but I would not want to trust it with any weight on it.

hillsider replied to the topic Aluminium corrosion / rust. in the forum General talk and discussion 12 years, 5 months ago
That’s ok, But I think it would not be a bad idea to keep a lookout for another deck to perhaps salvage a spare housing from if you intend to keep the machine in work.
It seems that although aluminium is very corrosion resistant if it does suffer it suffers badly.
