Have you had a look on that well known auction site online?

I agree with Clive, looks like an Andrews Spintrim.

Another great article, must have taken hours of research. Long Ashton research station closed in 2003.

Maybe e bay would be kind enough to give you his number and you could return the favour. Also have you got all your phone numbers registered with TPS.

Would it be worth speaking to someone at Meetens to see if they have come across the problem.

plonker do you get the message every time? May be you could send a copy of the screen (use PrtScrn button) then use contact link and paste it in.

Strange. Has it always done this? Where do you get new valves from, could they be poor quality copies?

That looks more like an engine off a mower, not a Trusty. Could be a Villiers, are there any numbers or name on the flywheel casing?

I think only the Kestrel and Hawk had reverse. The maintenance instructions and parts list I have for the Gamecock do not show a lever for disengaging the tines, only the main gear lever and one for disengaging drive wheels.

Like any rotavating job, several passes at increasing depth is the way to do it, not try for maximum depth in one go.

Alastair welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place, I am custodian of the Geo Monro factory records which the VHGMC have. I can date your machine from the serial number, although this may have been lost when engine was changed. In my own collection of literature I have manuals for all models of Monro Tiller and related engines. I am also a volunteer at MERL where the drawings for Geo Monro machines are held and I have been catalogueing these for MERL.
