Yes you will need to remove the guards to see what you want.

If the flywheel is removed the magneto timing will need to be reset see below for adjusting points, timing instructions and how to remove flywheel.

I am not familiar with the internal workings of Allen Scythe but I do have an instruction manual with parts list in my literature collection. Looking at the illustration on page 25 it would appear the clutch mechanism on the model T is inside the gearbox, see photo below.
If you send me a personal message with your e mail address I can email the full manual to you.

Later machines had a simple plate which chain runs over to adjust tension, (part number MT338B in series 3 manual) . If slack is more than 1/2″ then try taking out one link if there is no adjuster.

5.5 cwt (280 Kgs) or 6 cwt (305 Kgs) if it has the Douglas engine. I am not sure if this is includes the plough or is just the bare tractor.

Seems like a lot of effort when repairing the gearbox could be easier. The gearbox is the same as a BMB Plowmate. Electrification would have its own problems, size and weight of battery to give a reasonable run time for example.

If it was not half way around the world from me I would be interested to add it to my collection. I know there is some interest in collecting old rotavators etc in Australia, we have 3 club members, all in Victoria. If you plan to sell the machine options would include online auction such as ebay or a mainstream tractor magazine that has similar adverts.
