That is a Mk25 , nice to see it retains the original and correct carb. My Father used one extensively on his smallholding from the late 60s and through the 70s until he retired. From very distant memory he converted the body to dropside , originally I believe it was used as a milk cart.

Your de-compressor is indeed original , it should be fitted with a cable to a small thumb lever fitted on the handlebars.
Remove it from the head , drop it in a can of diesel for a fortnight , go back to it and it should free off OK.

It’s certainly not from the 50s , Honda didn’t start full time tiller production until 1959 with models like the F150 , F80 and F60 , which are of way different design to your model , to hedge a guess yours would date from late 60s/early 70s.

If that is the original engine , it’s not particularly old , having said that , I’m struggling with that handle column , and a OHV engine.

Slightly off topic , but I still use my fathers old soldering iron , I would guess it’s around 70yrs old and still works fine. I recall as a child him using it with the old 5amp rounpin plug , in later years it was changed to the 13amp squarepin.

Good advice about the nuts in fuel tanks , I cable tie mine into a cement mixer , run it for half an hour and it’s job done.
Ignition parts will be easy to obtain , they are still all readily available , Meetens are my personal choice.

Coles of Shaftesbury used to deal in Kubota , so they may be worth a try. Iseki tend to use round shafting for their machines.

I’m lucky enough to have the hexagon extensions that I bought years ago , and a pair of the wheel centres that fit over them , so it may well be a matter of finding a suitable pair of wheels to bolt my centres in.
I have a feeling Kubota hexagon is the same size , which gives another option.

I’m in the same position as you , I’m looking for a pair of wheels for a vintage Honda rotavator that I’m now restoring. The problem I’ve encountered so far is the size appears to be limited to 300-9 , which I can’t find with tractor grip………unless any of you good gents know otherwise.

I sill use my Grandfathers Planet Junior , for weeding in rows , getting VERY tight to your crops , it is simply unsurpassed IMO. I use a plough attachment for opening my Broad bean drills , again nothing else comes even close. As for ridging I would say it’s a bit undergunned.
All in all it’s a tool I would not be without.

Yes , it should have an aluminium head gasket , HT lead is widely available , engine spares wise Meetens should be able to help.

Just a thought , some of the Kubota/MAG engines actually drive from the camshaft as opposed to driving directly from the crankshaft , this gives a “reverse drive” effect.
Just check yours and see what is happening.

Howard Bullfinch , with the more unusual loop handlebars. It’s had an engine transplant to a Briggs at somepoint in its life.
Personally I would get the Briggs up and running , as you will need an elactric motor of at the very least 1 1/2 hp for it to work.

I probably should have said the plough is more than adequate for what it was designed for , that is afterall what growers bought them for, but not suitable for the millimeter perfect match ploughing.
