has the machine still got it,s belt guide at the front pulley
so when you let go the clutch the belt sits off the pulley. -

fitted a centrifugal clutch, test run on Saturday so fingers crossed it doesn’t slip and burn out..

this machine is going to live at the allotment so does not have to be original.

i have purchased a howard 350 with no clutch what is the simplest alternative ? any ideas on fabricating a tensioner wheel or centrifugal pulley budget not very big im afraid..

thank’s for the lesson i have the front weight on a stepped bar and the wheel weights, I thought it would be of use at the allotment in the spring or turning over for the winter.The 350 is such a well made machine, i also have the tiller extension kit which makes it a little wider i think it’s about 24 inches. i now have a plough for the 350 but no instruction’s so need a little advice Do i leave the rotavator on or just the tynes remove it all wheel extensions ???

Down the shed today looking at my gunsmith tractor looking forward to having a play this year when the penny dropped . How do you keep it straight 2 wheels you walk behind and steer with the arms 4 wheel keep the front wheel pulled against the land side 3 wheels look foward and back at the same time ???

is the flywheel on a taper or a key way. Im worried about changing the timing and not knowing how to reset it on my own 700.Also were their any decals on the machine as mine has none?

my own allotment is the same may need some of those giant wheels you see used in the paddy fields.I would rather see a bit of frost, kill a few bugs and break down the soil that has been ploughed.

well done barry i bought one about a month ago a great piece of kit.A little on the heavy side but what ever job you ask of it the 700 delivers.Some good footage on the net of one ploughing and lifting spuds,best of luck with the refurb..

the 700 is now home and dry.A little on the heavy side. It does have a clutch cable fitted but is a universal one,ok for now.It has a new ignition system fitted so starting easy (relatively). scoured the internet and found footage of a chap ploughing with a 700 and it appeared to have trusty wheels fitted. I also found footage of one with lugged bands over the original wheels, so lots of options over the winter..

Thank’s for the info . I pick up the 700 Wednesday a good runner villiers 2 stroke but no cable. I don’t know until then if i have the remains of the cable.Are accessories like plough still common or hen’s teeth.

In a pickle and need a clutch cable for a howard 700 or info on who can make one up.Also has anyone tried a jockey wheel clutch on a howard 350 as i have a project with none fitted??

look for a dynastarter from a golf cart they are belt driven . A pully can be fixed were the pull cord was mounted.the rest is mounting brackets battery location relay and switch.
