Type A with turn over plough and non-standard wheels.
Does anyone have a clue who might have made the plough? it looks a bit amateurish but fairly sturdy.
Machine purchased last year after spending 35-40 years in crumbling shed, purchased from son of the original purchaser, used all it’s life near Carmarthen on a smallholding. -

Thank you Charlie.
I hope this will not put off volunteer helpers who will hopefully come along as usual and help out on the club stand in the marquee.
All helpers welcome, please contact me if you think you can spare a few hours.
Thank you

Hi expeatfarmer & bennyboy
Yes the steel combs were stapled on the standard looking conveyor belting, the replacement one I purchesed 20+ years ago from Royer Industries was not as well stapled as the original one. If someone could cut out some combs for you they could probably be fixed with industrial quality staples, I think they were copper…[Read more]

Hi there.
I managed to get one several years ago from ‘Royer Industries’, I think they import them from the USA, so maybe the same folks you have dealt with. The only other one I have come across is in Sussex Peter French of Hillside Nurseries used to show it at our local rally there in the 90s. he probably still has it, but I have not been in…[Read more]

Hello Joegrgraham.
I have used 5-10% of Kero in a Howard Gem with BJ engine a lot in the past, it made it run much smoother, and started better when hot, I think it burned enough oil to do without the 2 stroke oil!I would try it, but only in an engine with relatively low compression ratio, or you will find it suffering from detonation.
Good luck

Hello Peter.
Yes, it is a Holt, apparently it is owned by the Harris Family from Dorset, it has appeared at GDSF in the past, but in agricultural guise. It ran very well and looked convincing in military mode.

Hello Mr Trusty220
I hope all is well with you and yours. The small machine is an American ‘rotoette’ here fitted with the rotary cultivator attachment, it does appear at GDSF sometimes with toolbar and tines. It is owned by Jon Van den Broek from Belgium, a keen supporter of VHGMC events and other horticultural working shows.
I will find a few…[Read more] -

A really good and varied horticultural working area this year. This event must rate as the best ‘shop window’ for the public to view horticultural machinery at work, some restored machines and some in their ‘working clothes’ which is always good to see.
The VHGMC marquee was busy at times , requests for information and advice were dealt with by…[Read more] -

Hi there.
You should be hearing a squeak from the injector as it delivers the fuel. I am sure that you realise that you need a really hefty swing on the starting handle to fire up the zunder fuse.
I do have a manual if it is of use to you I could get it copied for you.
I may have a new pump somewhere too.

I think it is water orientated, either for well digging or bore hole digging.
