It is definitely a Four Seasons scrubcutter made by the Standard Insulator co of Camberley.
The early ones had no jockey pulley clutch to disengage the drive to the cutter, this made starting the machine a bit of a nightmare! difficult to hold the blade off the ground while pulling the starting rope. The later ones did have a clutch which made…[Read more] -

Hello craigfal123
I suggest you try Jon Cruse, at The Mower Centre, Vicarage Road, Hailsham, East Sussex.
He has a website I think it is googled at ‘the mower cemtre’ He makes up cables from patterns in stock or by copying your own old cable.well worth a try.

They are a useful little machine, I have one hiding under the bench in the barn, alas, no manual to offer you. Try the ‘Old lawnmower club’ site.

Hi Paul
They must be watching Crufts on the TV, or still making their way home from the Club AGM yesterday, nothing has been posted about that either, I hope it was a successful day.
I trust your new lorry is performing well.must be like old times!

I remember my Father used to take the fruit grower & Market gardener, there were stacks of them in the old office, sadly they were all burnt many years ago.
Where are all the Malvern photos, there are usually masses of them posted by now!!

I well remember in Sussex that when it was East Sussex River Board, they had two Priestman draglines that were in constant use all Year dredging out rivers and in some cases fairly small ones, to keep the water flowing. But when the Environment agency took over, that all stopped, which must contribute to todays problems, apart from the Environment…[Read more]

Does anyone know anything about this model of Ransomes mower, there is a plate with MkX1 stamped and a serial number, so not sure of date etc. It is 16″ cut and in need of much attention.
I am looking for a bottom blade, it is apparently wider than most Ransomes 16″ blades of today, even Jon Cruse was beaten on that one, which is most unusual,…[Read more] -

Pictures of the Mk 1 Clifford for ‘spider’ as promised. Looks a bit different now than it did a couple of weeks ago!
Best of luck locating the missing depth wheel for your Clifford, and possibly more from ‘up North’
