From discussion with Martin Mansley at Malvern, they also manufactured a unit with two rotovating heads with a gap between them designed for cultivating either side of strawberry plants. Someone I spoke to at the show had one but I cannot remember who.

I wonder if they could still make spares? He showed me photos of the prototypes and variations including a twin head version for cultivating…[Read more]

At Malvern, Stuart Cox kindly brought me an old magazine article about a chap in Godalming that had a complete sand skimming tractor and a dumper , both of which he planned to restore with a view to displaying them together. The man’s name was David Smith and he was described as a farm and horticultural equipment collector. Does anyone know of…[Read more]

Another point that struck me after Tractor World was that a number of the MG tractors were enthusiastically exhibited by young lads in their twenties, how pleasing that the machines still have appeal across all ages and there are younger followers to buy them off us when we are too old to carry on !!!!!

Anthony and Laura for helping with inspiration sorting key parts such as MERL and Trevor and a super effort to bring 4 machines to fill the gaps, Rhys and Carlo ( aka Rhys’s Dad) helping to set up and take down the…[Read more]
