  • I have just looked and repaired a McCullouch MH542P virgian hedgecutter not a runner i found that the flywheel key had sheared got the old bit out of crank ok but was puzzled the flywheel part would not come out after checking on net found the key is part of flywheel so new one required at £44 + what a stupid idea the later one’s had a separate…[Read more]

  • Just to add when refitting bolt’s or nut’s use a small amount of copper grease on the thread’s this will enable them to be undone at a future date as long as the nut or bolt is not required to be thread locked,i have used copper grease for many year’s on agricultural machine’s even if it’s not me that would dismantle it again….

  • As WP say’s about an ungoverned engine yes this is normal, put the machine into work cutting grass and the rpm would drop pretty quick then you will find that you would need to open the throttle to get it to cut, the heavier the work the more the throttle need’s to be opened, if the engine was a four stroke doing the same work it would be governed…[Read more]
