No idea on numbers sold in UK. Very little progress but I am planning to get on with it this winter, just need to clear space in garage.
I did discover from material held at MERL it is in fact a 10E.
Very tidy, pity about the side cover.
My machine serial number is 27125, the information I have shows model 50 production year as 1934. However the serial number of mine falls in a range that is shown as allocated to model 52, 1937 to 1940, (26401-29296). Confusing.
Looking at the Wico magneto information i have it looks as if the JAP engine should have a 1057BZ, the BJ engine is fitted with a 966BZ. The Gem series IV had an 1137BZ. A CJ1385 was fitted to Clifford and Landmaster fitted with JAP 600cc engine. What the output characteristics of these is i don’t know.
That number does not seem to relate to anything in the list I have, my 50 is serial number 27125. Is 19019 on the big plate on engine cowl or is it on a small brass tag on fan housing (engine number).
