charlieKeymasterWhat engine is it, Villiers Mk10, 12 or 15 or is it something else, they did have other engine options?
Without going out and checking my machines I can’t remember what plugs I currently use, but NGK A6 rings a bell. I have one at least one machine, a SIMAR, which has had a thread adapter fitted taking size from 18mm to 14mm.July 22, 2022 at 4:15 pm #39506
charlieKeymasterI have used villiersparts.com several times and would recommend them. Good quality new Viliers coils

charlieKeymasterIs that the 2 stroke engine?
You may need to find someone that can make a gasket. What material was the old one?July 5, 2022 at 3:44 pm #39414
charlieKeymasterThis would be a good item and story for an article in The Cultivator. Maybe a photo of the item on one age, guess the object. Then answer and background story on another page.

charlieKeymasterThe wheels can be reversed to give a different off set. If one is at narrow setting and the other is at wide setting then it would have one tread facing the opposite way. If both wheels are on the same setting then yes it would appear one tyre is on the wrong way round.

charlieKeymasterNot one I recognise, the Power Barrow TW badge would suggest it is a production machine and not homemade. I wonder what TW stands for?

charlieKeymasterIt would be interesting to see a photo of the set up you have on your machine.

charlieKeymasterLooking at your photo and the diagrams I posted I would say it is a HJR type gearbox.
Are the parts you need information about numbered 38, 39 and 40 in the diagram? If so they are the operator plunger. To set plunger it should be screwed home and then unscrewed half a turn to ensure plunger engages in V slots in the operator (part 47) correctly. Screwdriver slot lies in the same plain as head of plunger.June 28, 2022 at 7:23 am #39354

charlieKeymasterAs far as I know the cam profile did not change.
A photo of the whole points set up, with flywheel removed, would help us see what might be wrong. (I know removing flywheel then retiming the engine is a pain). I have attached a file showing the layout of the points, which I am sure is the same on the Allen Scythe engine.
Have you tried slackening off the points fixing screw and moving adjuster?June 28, 2022 at 7:02 am #39351
charlieKeymasterYou need to compress the photo files as they are too large, there is a 4MB max size limit. See the following forum topic for hints how to do this https://staging.vhgmc.co.uk/forums/topic/compressing-photo-files-using-ms-office-picture-manager/
