I make you right Geoff , the fuel tank also suggests Wisconsin , looks the same as the twin cylinder tank on the early american balers.

Well done Geoff , I really enjoyed the programme , it illustrated the truly monumental effort of farming in the day , unlike todays farmers who moan and groan about anything and everything.

With all due respect , if a company can’t make a relatively straightforward cutting cylinder , something is seriously wrong with them.
It would be a doddle for any reputable engineer.Andy.

It could be coil or condenser or points , what colour spark are you getting?? , if it’s yellowish then a component test is in order, are or were your points badly pitted/burnt
Personally I would bin your so called spark tester , they are the most misleading toy you’re likely to waste money on , especially on Villiers ignitions , which it has to be…[Read more] -
andyfrost replied to the topic petter a1 carb 24t2 ? in the forum General talk and discussion 3 years, 4 months ago
The 24T2 is a very widely used carb , I don’t have the info at hand , but it is available , it will give you the jet numbers according to varying applications.
One tip is to disregard the main jet and replace it with the variable one , you can then compensate for wear in the butterfly ,(within reasonable limits) which is a common fault. Google up…[Read more] -

In that case discard the plug cap and connect HT lead DIRECTLY to plug.

What type of connection are you using from HT lead to plug.
Andy.
-
andyfrost replied to the topic Monro tiller spark plug in the forum Pedestrian operated machines 3 years, 4 months ago
ALWAYS try for a spark DIRECT from the end of the HT lead , if you have a suppressor fitted remove it and check for a spark directly from the end of the lead.

From memory all Mk12s had a 14mm plug fitting, along with later Mk10s , early Mk10s had 18mm.

The wire you’ve highlighted goes to the points ,(in this instance directly onto the end of the condenser) the other uninsulated wire is Earth. Try wiring it up correctly , make sure your points are clean and set , and see if you have a spark.
A modern replacement magnetron coil should be available , which will eliminate the need for points and .Andy.

Another option is to try some of the Govt surplus stores , those that have been going for some time bought hundreds of these , and numerous spares..well worth a try.
