To move onto your generator, it looks like a Tuscan, 110 volt DC which were used with Tarpen accessories – a nice new avenue of collecting, there are plenty of 110 volt Tarpen hedgetrimmers out there, also chainsaws, mowers and even little tillers! It also doesn’t matter if they are AC or DC, as the brush type motors that Tarpen used will run on either!

47mm = 1.85″, 20mm = 0.784″, 14mm = 0.551″ so not equivalent to Imperial sizes.

I decided to enter this year as there is usually quite a reasonable horticultural presence, so I filled in the form and sent it off with an SAE. Not long after I got a phone call from the organiser, “I’ve got your entry, where’s your cheque?” “What cheque?” I replied, “It’s £8 per entry, it was clearly stated on the form.” I checked and indeed it…[Read more]

Adjustable handles and they came with a set of slashers instead of the basic rotors. They had a cast hitch before the Major was fitted with it, this hitch was usually red. It says in the brochure that the frame was strengthened. I think they just mean the angle iron.

There may be a blockage in the carb. there’s a small drilling that you have a job to even see. If it’s not cleaned out it won’t start. Here’s some help…

MT Professional used the 900 Longlife cast iron engine. Capacity is 8.3 Cu in. = 136cc 3.25 hp @ 3600 rpm
They work well being a bit heavier than the B&S engine, they seem to rev more freely and start better. -

Now I’ve got some more news, I was told at the Oare rally that Newbury isn’t on this year. I had a look at the TW website and there is no metion of it, so I contacted them using the Facebook messaging service and I got a reply from Mark Woodward who says “Sorry no Autumn Tractor World show this year.” They will be having the spares days, however.

Unfortunately I’ve just heard that this show has been cancelled. It was to have been held next weekend but a very poor weather forecast for this week means that the decision has been made to cancel.

Charlie, the Little Giant is one handed, there is no provision for a second handle. The picture in the photo gallery is a Tarpensaw, http://staging.vhgmc.co.uk/photo-galleries/tarpen/tarpen-little-giant-imgtarp042/
