The other day we had a character come round here, he was obviously “working” the area. He introduced himself as The Chair, which I thought was a bit odd. I arrived with caravan on Friday evening and in spite of the muddy entrance got in OK. Saturday was fine so exhibits were set out and there was a good selection of machines already.

The BSA engine would be an M20, keep your eyes peeled around the autojumbles. It has a dry sump like the Jap and uses a separate oil tank. An M21 (600cc) one will do as well….

I have got two of my Merry Tillers going now, my Professional model with the Clinton engine had no spark so I did the points and that worked. Cleaned the carb. and it’s running! the 1968 Major which has had many problems, I’ve just done a careful carb. clean and that one started and ran yesterday.
