Thanks for the info Andy.
Regards to the Zenith carb i basically had to make one good one out of all the carbs i brought as all had “issues” with them.I still have one left which is “NOS” (new old stock) but someone has allready tried to remove the brass main jet with a poor fitting screwdriver and mangled the slot up.I know you can buy brand new…[Read more] -

I have an Anzani Iron Horse from a local museum in order to get the engine running for them.It used to be a runner but alas the machine has been kept outside for many years. Some parts are missing (robbed i guess) but have found a replacement Wico mag and Zenith 24T-2 carb.I have completely stripped and rebuilt this mag and carb and im sure both…[Read more]

On my AC-2 chaincase there is a small screw on the side which acts as a level.Add oil untill it just starts to come out of hole.Maybe yours, allthough a differemt model, has a similar level screw ??

I dont know what should be there John as i cant find a good enough Google image of a KS280 showing the handlebars / swivel area.
I think the KS280 has an alloy plate riveted somewhere on the handles giving the model number, engine type and machine serial number ??.Maybe you can confirm if this is on yours ??.
This is the only photo i took of my…[Read more] -

It maybe the ignition timing is out.The magneto’s stator assy (the stator is the coil, contact breakers and condensor assy located behind the flywheel) has slotted holes to enable adjustment.
Also worth checking is the exhaust port and the exhaust itself……the engine is a 2 stroke which burns oil and eventually will block the exhaust port in the…[Read more] -

On some topics why is it i can only read the replies made and not the original posting ??.For eg…..in the ride on mowers section theres a topic requesting Briggs and Stratton engine help.I can read the 5 replies fine but have no idea what the original post is.Does the forum still have a few glitches to sort out ??

Is it sparking at the spark plug ??.If not then the contact breakers will require cleaning and the only thorough way to achieve this is by removing the flywheel.

Yes thats the oil filler tube for the chaincase.Again there is an “oil level” screw on the side of the casing.Im sure SAE30 grade oil will be fine for the chaincase.
I suspect if your engine does not start it has lost its spark due to standing / not used for a long time ??.If this is the case then the flywheel will need removing to access to the…[Read more] -

Which part of the country are you in Phil ??
Thanks for those pictures and measurememnts of the engine cover…..i,ll see what i can make up.
Refer to my pic on the other forum…….just below and to the Left of the red drive belt pulley on the reduction gearbox you will see the 2 screws and also cast into the alloy casing “OIL LEVEL”.If you want…[Read more] -

Yes mine has the original engine “cut-out” switch on the LH handles. To stop the engine i just press the red button. Its spring loaded and therefore returns to the “engine running” position when released.
Your switch would also have a wire going down to the magneto (behind the flywheel). The position “O” is OFF and position “I” is ON.You really need…[Read more] -

The larger round screw in the picture that i think you are refering too is the “oil filler screw” for the reduction gearbox (the screw with the flat slot in it which also has a fibre sealing washer underneath it).Its not a “dipstick” as the gearbox has another screw at the bottom which is the oil level screw (you can see this is the same…[Read more]

An image along with some measurements would be great and i will have go at making one of these covers for my AC-2.New spare parts are very hard to find.A donor machine,if you can find one, would supply some useful parts im sure.Where on the rotavator is your “missing cap” ??.Is it the oil filler cap on the transmission case you are looking for ??.
