I reckon the 35 will have more than enough power and weight for that. Looking forward to to seeing how it goes!

Hold that thought. Just found this on the French site. 35 with plough presumably original, so you should be ok!

Carl, I’ve been trawling the net and can’t find any evidence of 35 being used with plough. No information of one on the French site either. I’ve never seen one so assume plough was not a standard accessory for 35. Having said that they’re a decent size machine with plenty of power and weight so as long as the plough isn’t too heavy it should wo…[Read more]

Thanks very much Neil. I’ll check coil when I put condenser in. If need be I’ll be in touch!

Thanks Charlie. I’ve taken plenty of photos so should be ok. And found a download on the net.
And thanks also James. Good to have a recommendation! Actually looking at the USA site recommend by Sean, you can probably pick up a new coil quicker and cheaper than having a rewind!
I’ll let you know how I get on with the condenser.

Just saw that, Andy. But I’ve now tested condenser, which shows no reading at all. So I’ve ordered Easycap. Thanks Sean, didn’t think condenser would be so easy to get. Maybe the plough will be coming to Weeley after all!

As I’m this far stripped down Andy, I’ve decided to keep at it. Now that I know I can get condenser and coil if needed I’m pressing on! I didn’t think they’d be readily available at reasonable money but thanks to Sean I know better. I’d far sooner do the job myself if possible. Bearings seem fine. I’m pretty sure it’s condenser or coil. Jr delive…[Read more]

Thanks Sean. I’ll certainly try the Easycap. I’ve already got it half stripped down so I might as well keep going now I know I can also get the coil. Having revisited your post, I’m amazed how detailed it is. Any chance really useful stuff like this could be collated in the members download section Alan? It could form the start of a handy libra…[Read more]

Unfortunately the Wipac Series A mag on one of my SIMARS has stopped sparking. I’ve done all the usual home checks with no luck. Looks like a refurb needed. As it looks likely I’ll have to remortgage the house to pay for it, any recommendations as to a good restorer?
Thanks

Over for another year. No photos because my phone battery is on the blink. Machinery not always well behaved. 700 Hirth ran faultlessly. 50 developed intermittent fuel problem. Today the mag on the SIMAR 56 plough packed up. More tinkering when I can find the time.
Many thanks to Robert for dragging me off the field with the Trusty and helping…[Read more] -

I’m not an expert, but every SIMAR I’ve had the carb bowl off has had metal float. Possibly yours is home made?
Unless seals have been replaced in the past it’s inevitable they’ll leak. All mine do. I just top up oil before every outing. But admittedly I’m a bit lazy when it comes to taking them apart! -

Not too long to go now! Anyone within striking distance of Norfolk, this is well worth attending. Hopefully we’ll get some rain beforehand to soften up the ground!
Traction Engines, vintage commercial, tractors, horticultural, vintage combines, horses, small fairground, large working area.
Well worth a visit.
Hope to see some of you there! -

Our village get together today. Chance to get some of the collection out for a good cause and nice to run them for a bit. Everyone knew I had arrived!

I can’t help with F190 manuals or contact breaker, but the F190 is very similar to the F80. Anyone else able to help?

I’m greener than a SIMAR! Still, at least I was able to show the video to my better half and inform her how lucky she is to have me with my smaller collection!
