Hi again,
Been through the carb, and tried it today, and she runs! (albeit with a lot of spitting and popping, plus a few flames!).
The problem now is it will only run on tick over and fully choked, increase the revs and/or open the choke and it dies.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe. -

I totally agree with other posts. Being on a sawbench it would have been running at fairly low revs.If at all possible, put her on a plough and find some heavy ground to turn over, failing that, find a big hill to drive up, anything to really make her work!.

Hi Charlie,
Just tried to PM you, and it wouldn’t let me. I’m fairly sure I’m a member (my name was in latest issue of the cultivator).
Thanks

Hi again,
I still have this problem, the weird thing is that when I’m NOT logged in, I can view all the posts fine, but when I’m logged in, the first post of each thread is missing.?

Hi all,
I’ve got a Trusty with a Briggs and Stratton ZZ engine.
Tried to start it today, and not a dickie-bird.
The mag’ has been rebuilt and there is a good spark at the plug. Fuel is getting through to the carb, but the plug is still dry after repeated cranking. I’m guessing that the carb isn’t doing what it should.
So my question is, where is…[Read more] -

Just browsing the forum, every thread I open seems to have the original post and possibly a couple of the earliest replies missing. Is this a hiccup with the forum or with my computer?

Hi all,
Does anyone know what the approx’ weight of a Trusty is, just the bare machine, no implements.
Thanks,

I stand to be corrected, but I think the wording on the sheath says US GOVT (a G not a B). United States Government 1942. All military stuff is date stamped.
So you have a second world war machete, most likely issued to US troops for use in jungle theatres.
The reason for the made in England, at that time, Sheffield was still a world leader in the…[Read more] -

Porsche Alligaier also did a powered trailer, the tractor had two PTO’s, the standard 540rpm one and then a different size one to power the trailer.
There was a restored one in T & M a year or so ago. -

I’m not familiar with this particular brand of winch, but for that price, I would be dubious about a) how long the motor will last, and b) how well it’ll stand up to being exposed to the elements on a flat bed truck (I stand to be corrected if anyone has one).
Depending how much you’re planning to use it, I would either spend a bit more money on a…[Read more] -

Not too sure about the V8 F20, nicely done, just not my cup of tea! Nice line up of JD’s, especially the original ones.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi all,
As a new Trusty owner, I have just joined the VHGMC and have been following the forum for a few weeks.
The Cultivator is a brilliant read, and I’m looking forward to getting my Trusty running and joining some club working days.
I’d like to say a big Thank You to the forum admin team, and all the forum users. What a breath of fresh air this…[Read more]
