Valuations are always difficult due to so many variables, such as condition and even location. Options include our own club magazine, e bay, mainstream magazines eg Tractor & Machinery or auctions such as those held at Tractor World show.

Have you tried your local garden machinery repairer? Have a look at Garfitts they do a huge range of parts.

I suggested that in a previous topic about this engine.

It would be logical to use an off the shelf item when manufacturing these machines rather than have a bespoke item made. If it is Morris Minor it should be easily sourced and not too expensive.

Carl you are in luck I have found a spare, luckily the 35, 50 and 56 seem to all have the same float. Drop me a pm with your address so I can post it asap, we can sort payment out when you bring machine to Weeley,

If it is only the shoes that need replacing it should be possible to have them relined. No idea about sourcing other parts.

I will see if I have a spare carb I can rob the float from. Yes seals do leak, which at least shows there is some oil in gearbox. Gearbox oil should be straight, not EP, 140 see attached pdf file which includes timing details.

I suggest you try telephoning, the e mail address may have changed or be incorrect.

Jay, it is not unusual to have one valve larger than the other, if the valve fits the seat then it is the right size. One valve may have been replaced which would explain why one has a slot for screwdriver and the other doesn’t, I believe the slot is so you can use a screwdriver when lapping the valves in.
