Unfortunately the forum suffered spam emails being sent to users about two weeks ago, this meant that to stop spam messages being sent we had to suspend the service whilst we consider how to implement the solution. We have the solution it’s just inserting it without bolloxing up the forum.
If you need to spur a member into action then you can…[Read more]

Several manufacturers names and adverts turn up on a quite regular basis, these include: Howard, Greens Mowers, Jap engines, Sheen flame guns, Tarpen equipment, Allen scythes and the list goes on, but also one […]

Of course, glad to help.
The forum displays images as thumbnail attachments to a post. When the thumbnails are clicked by a user browsing that post then the image displays at it’s full size in the centre of the screen and then all images for that post can be scrolled through.

alan replied to the topic Do you know anything about this dron wel sprayer ? in the forum Help and information 7 years, 2 months ago
Written evidence from research done by another VHGMC member suggests that the Dronwal brand existed from about 1944 with sprayers of the type and size you have still being made in 1977 – so quite a large period of time and many produced. Looking at prices, somewhere £20 to £30 seems to be the price online.

In the gallery there is a 1960 advert and the little giant chainsaw is just off the image in the bottom right corner.

alan replied to the topic can anyone identify this? in the forum Ride-on machines 7 years, 2 months ago
I haven’t seen the machine in question in the tinwork so can only go by the information and photos posted.
At first glance I’d say it was homemade, or at least not of mass-production, but questionable past machines which turned out not to be homemade now make me look a bit harder!
I have found a photo and also traced it to some information on…[Read more]

I’ve looked through the VHGMC online stuff and had a search online and cannot find any documents apart from paid for ones. Being from Yorkshire myself I know what you mean about unnecessarily spending money, club chairman Trusty220 constantly reminds me about my frugality!
Good luck with the roller, there seems to be quite a few about so…[Read more]

Thanks. We are aware that some pointless spammer has sent a group-wide email from their account. Everything is ok.

Looks like someone created an account and posted a group-wide message.
Technology does stop most spam registrations but sadly not all, there’s always someone out there who is hell bent on posting spam. The spammers account has now been dealt with and site checked.
Slightly concerned that Trusty220 was getting excited with the thought that he…[Read more]

I’m of the same opinion as others that whatever the paint used it will still take the same effort and time to apply it, it’s therefore worthwhile trying to get the correct paint or as near as possible for whatever project or seeing if a paint supplier has any details in their records like Farmer has, above.
If in doubt then the best piece of…[Read more]

Ok little brown book. One step at a time, are you sure it was a kidnapping (or perhaps booknapping) and not a random break for freedom from the club stand that you made?

By all accounts the club stand was absolutely excellent and did really well. I’ve seen a few photos of the stand and indeed with gazebo, noticeboard and club flags made for a great stand with machines to look at, displays to read and reference books to peruse – and of course some knowledgeable members to talk to.

Thanks for the info about the liveried MG sold online. I’ve had a look and kept a few images for future reference.
I did have a search a while back to see if there was any contemporary evidence of MGs with the RAF, but I found nothing.
There was a David Brown roadless on tracks but apparently it was found to cause too much damage to the…[Read more]

Currently the website is being updated, bits of technical stuff and good stuff too.
It may occasionally be temporarily unavailable for a few minutes while we do stuff sometimes.
